John Hancock Center at 875 North Michigan Avenue in Chicago
875 North Michigan Avenue, formerly the John Hancock Center, rises above the Magnificent Mile in Chicago, Illinois, with a tapered black facade defined by exposed steel X-bracing. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill through the collaboration of architect Bruce Graham and structural engineer Fazlur Rahman Khan, the mixed-use tower expresses its wind-resisting diagonalized tube directly on the exterior – © 2026 David Oppenheimer – Performance Impressions photography archives https://performanceimpressions.com
